Open the Book
Here at St. Margaret's Church, we have a small, dedicated team of six volunteers, who regularly visit two local Primary Academies once a month with 'Open the Book' assemblies: taking Bible stories into school and bringing these stories to life! These are stories taken from the Bible, either from the Old Testament or the New Testament. Through these stories we are able to joyfully share God's message with the children. Whilst on our many visits to schools, we have noticed that when the children come into the hall and notice that we are there their faces light up; a smile appears across their faces and excitement in their eyes. Sometimes even a wave from the children too. We also ask the teachers for some children to help us with ‘acting’ the stories out, to which we always get an amazing response from the children as they all want to help and join in. We have been able to record some of these in the church.
