KEEPING LENT AT ST. MARGARET’S
Traditionally Lent has been associated with ‘giving things up’, but this was, originally, to enable us to get closer to God. So, this Lent, take our Lent Challenge to improve our own lives and make our relationship with God better.
Wednesday February 17th: Join in our service for Ash Wednesday, available on our website: www.stmargaretslowestoft.co.uk Thursday February 18th: “Spring clean” and tidy a room at home Friday February 19th: Read Psalm 51 Saturday February 20th: Think of all the people who have kept working during the lockdowns to ensure we are able to carry on our lives as ‘normal’ and pray for them
Sunday February 21st Join St Margaret’s for our Communion service, live on our website from 6pm on Saturday Monday February 22nd Say thank you to someone as they work and say how much you appreciate them Tuesday February 23rd Look out the window until you find something of beauty you had not noticed before Wednesday February 24th : Show some love to your world and see if there is anything more you can recycle at home; resolve to do so Thursday February 25th : Be nice to everybody and don’t complain about anybody Friday February 26th Go on a thankful walk - see all the positive things you can be thankful for in your neighbourhood Saturday February 27th Take time to pray for your neighbours

Tuesday March 9th: Cook your favourite food and enjoy eating it Wednesday March 10th: What is your favourite hymn? Why is it special to you? Thursday March 11th : Thank God for animals and the fun and enjoyment we get from them. Friday March 12th Pray for people whom you normally sit next to, or near, in church
Saturday March 13th : Think about your school days, then pray for the schools in our parish and our ‘open the Book’ team who go into two schools
Sunday March 14th : Join St Margaret’s for our Communion service, live on our website from 6pm on Saturday Monday March 15th : Pray for your family, wherever they are Tuesday March 16th: Read Psalm 122 Wednesday March 17th: Remember the people of Ireland in your prayers on St. Patrick’s day. Thursday March 18th: Listen to a piece of music you enjoy and think what makes it special for you Friday March19th : Sort through your kitchen cupboards Saturday March 20th : Think about yourself. How do other people see God working through you?
