Our weekly services

8am          Holy Communion.

This Communion service is celebrated using the order in the Book of Common Prayer. There is a short sermon, but there are no hymns.

The Book of Common Prayer was written in 1662 and the language used in the service reflects the language in England in 1662. We often call it the "traditional language". The service lasts about 30 - 40 minutes.

10am       Sung Eucharist

This Communion service is celebrated using the Church of England's "Common Worship" in twenty-first century language. Our choir leads our singing of the service and the five hymns that we join in together. There is a sermon too. The service usually lasts just over the hour and is followed by tea and coffee in our church centre.

11.30am   Blessings of babies and children take place, by arrangement.

6pm          Evening service

This service follows a variety of styles, and more details are available on the "Sunday evening" page of our website.

DAILY [except Sundays]

8.30am    Morning Prayer [except on a major Saint's Day when we celebrate a said service of Holy Communion]

4pm         Evening Prayer Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.

10.30am    Holy Communion

12 noon  Holy Communion

This service is different to our other services. At the time of our prayers we are given the opportunity to place a few grains of incense onto burning charcoal, symbolising our prayers rising to God. After this we keep an extended time of silent prayer in which we can privately bring our own concerns to God.
