Weekly news: Opening soon!

The last three months seem to have been more of a struggle than the earlier lockdowns. I do hope though that you’ve been able to ‘keep up’ with St Margaret’s, either through our website and our Sunday services or with the other people in your ‘KITs group’.

  • Every Friday at 12 noon: Holy Communion
  • Every Sunday at 10am:   Eucharist with music (and when singing is allowed again we shall introduce it)

Our 6pm Sunday evening services:

  • 2nd Sunday of the month: Choral Evensong
  • Third Sunday of the month: Evening Communion with hymns
  • Fourth Sunday of the month: Sung Evensong

Will begin again once singing is allowed back in churches (if choirs only can sing at the start then we shall start with just Choral Evensong)

And our 8am Sunday Holy Communion will resume from May 1st on the first Sunday of each month.

We are investigating the viability of filming our 10am service each week and uploading it to our website on Monday morning so if you are unable to worship with us on the Sunday you will still be able to share in the service. More details about this once we have been able to confirm whether we can do this well.

Whilst writing, I would like to share a few other dates etc with you:

  • Sunday April 18th will be our Annual Church Meeting at which we shall elect our Churchwardens, Deanery Synod representatives and PCC members. We shall hear a report of our activities during the last year (and although we have not been worshipping in church a lot has been happening). This will start straight after our 10am service. Nomination forms will be available, in church, on Easter Sunday
  • Sunday April 25th: We shall be commissioning Pam Shaw as an Anna Chaplain at our 10am service. Do come and hear about all Pam is doing on our behalf in God’s name.
  • Our magazine will resume in May. Please can any articles be handed to Gill  or Jennifer  by April 18th.
  • Last July we ‘celebrated’ the centenary of our bells. This July we are celebrating our organ’s 150th birthday. More news about this over the next couple of months!
